Pink Trombone—manipulate a vocal-tract model with the pointer to synthesize speech-like sounds.
About This Site
What is it?
Pink Trombone (hosted on imaginary.github.io/pink-trombone) is an interactive articulatory speech synthesizer. You drag control points on a cross-section of a vocal tract to shape vowels and noises in real time.
How to play
- Allow audio when the browser prompts
- Drag the tract / tongue controls with the mouse or finger
- Experiment with different shapes to hear timbre changes
- Desktop pointer control is usually easier than tiny phone screens
