About This Site
What is it?
HowToWhistle is a free browser app for practising whistling. Play along with songs from the library while a live pitch line shows every note you hit or miss. It also includes a whistling range test, daily challenges, and leaderboards—all free, no account required.
How to play
- Open the site and allow microphone access (HTTPS required); headphones are recommended so the metronome does not leak into the mic
- Pick a song from the library or try the daily challenge
- Whistle along and watch whether your pitch line lands on the target notes
- Never whistled before? Start with the range test to confirm the mic hears you, then read the beginner guide
- Audio stays in your browser—recordings are never uploaded; leave a nickname only if you want to join the leaderboard
